Proposed Services

The Irish Society for Autism's most recent project based in Kerry will provide 10 people with Autism an opportunity to live, work and participate in leisure and recreational activities in an ambience of unconditional respect and dignity in a social care model of excellence. The proposed day activity centre will provide opportunities for ongoing education and the development of skills so that people with Autism attending can achieve their full potential. Each person is valued as an individual and the range of activities reflect the likes and dislikes of the person. The personal choices of each individual is encouraged and cherished.

KerryThe accommodation will be in self-contained apartments grouped around a landscaped courtyard with shared living facilities. This ‘life style’ will encourage people with Autism to maximise their potential and independence in a caring and stimulating environment. The day activity centre will comprise of:

  • Augmented Communication
  • Life-long Learning Skills
  • Recreation / Leisure
  • Social Skill Training
  • Woodwork
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Horticulture
